And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only-begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth
- John 1:14

Worship at the Anglican Church of St Peter

The central act of Christian worship is the Holy Communion, also called the Holy Eucharist or more commonly the Mass.  This service is held in obedience to the command of the Lord Jesus to "do this in remembrance of me."  We Anglicans do not understand this "remembrance" as a mere act of willful recollection.   In common with the vast majority of Christians from the time of the New Testament until the present day, we acknowledge the "remembrance" as the bringing into our presence the Presence of Christ himself through the activity of the Holy Spirit.

Also in obedience to the Lord's command, we administer the sacrament of Baptism to adults and children who are duly prepared to receive it.  This sacrament is sealed in the rite of Confirmation, which in the Anglican tradition is administered by the Bishop.

Other sacraments include Marriage, Ordination, Penance (Private Confession), and Anointing of the Sick.

The Daily Offices of Morning and Evening Prayer are an important part of the Anglican tradition of worship and spirituality, and sometimes are used as a principal service on Sundays when a priest is not available to celebrate the Mass.
